baptism august 2

The Sacrament of Baptism is where we begin our spiritual journey as daughters and sons of God. It is the foundation on which all the sacraments grow out of and connect back to.  It all begins with Baptism!

Infant/Child Baptism:

Parents seeking baptism for their child must be registered parishioners and attend our Parent Baptism Class. (If you are not registered parishioners we can help you with that!) The class is designed to introduce you to other parents, and help you appreciate the significance of baptism and the promises parents make when they present their children for this life-giving sacrament. There will be plenty of opportunities for questions.

Baptisms are generally celebrated monthly, except during Lent. Families may choose to have their child baptized during the 5 pm Saturday Mass, or Sundays at 8:30 or 10:30 am.  We prefer to celebrate baptism during our gatherings for Eucharist so more of the community can be present to welcome the family and celebrate God’s gift of life.  Baptisms are occasionally celebrated apart from Mass for a valid reason.

If you would like to have your child baptized at Holy Trinity, call the parish office at 616-784-0677 or email care@holytrinitycp.org.

Adult Baptism:

If you are an adult seeking Baptism or are interested in becoming Catholic,  you can find more information under RCIA section of our website.
