Definition of an Active Parishioner
or “Parishioner in Good Standing”
All Catholic-Christians living within the boundaries of a parish are entitled to pastoral and spiritual care, as described in the Church’s Code of Canon Law.
However, members who actively support the faith community with their time, talent and treasure also benefit from reduced school tuition, parish mailings, reduced fees and other allowances.
An active parishioner clearly makes an effort to grow as a disciple of Jesus Christ and cultivate their faith. They attend Mass on a regular basis, and share their fruits by offering their time, talent, and treasure through their tithe to the parish offertory and their willingness to serve in at least one ministry or event each year.
